I can’t think of better company than John Radford for ‘a culinary journey around the food and drink of Spain’, and here he proves again to be as engaging as he is generously knowledgeable. The food side, however, features complicated ‘modern Spanish’ recipes with often exotic ingredients (pork cheeks, truffled bread cubes, octopus). They’re sexy – I’d love to eat at Sandoval’s restaurant – but a challenge for most home cooks.
